Mental health and legal professionals who regularly work with high conflict family members report experiencing high levels of stress. Parents in high conflict struggle to express and manage their emotions in a healthy way around their children, co-parents, legal team or clinical providers. This presentation will highlight research about the emotional, social, psychological, and physical effects on legal and mental health professionals who work with this challenging population. Participants will assess their own current self-care practices, personal and professional coping skills while looking for opportunities for improvement. Participants will be guided through exercises designed to improve their self-awareness, expand their repertoire of personal and professional coping skills, and develop a strategy to incorporate self-care regularly.
Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)
Participants will receive 2 CEUs with completion of this course.
